Real Estate Investor Case Study (Move In/Out Cleaning)

Some of Summit Maids’ first clients were real estate investors, and we have had a great relationship with those clients ever since. For instance, one of our clients is a real estate investor from California who decided that he wanted to begin building his portfolio in Cleveland, Ohio. He bought a package of three triplexes in the very nice Shaker Heights neighborhood and hired us to come out and do a full top-down move in cleaning so that each of the nine units would be ready to go for showing them to new potential tenants.

In this case, we had nine units to clean and only two and a half days to get the job done while the client was in town. We set up two teams of house cleaners who would leapfrog units in the same building each day and then a lead house cleaner who would oversee the coordination of the entire job and lend a hand as needed.

One challenge that our house cleaning teams encountered while on this project was that in a number of the units there had previously been working wood burning fireplaces that had left a fine coat of wood ash on all the surfaces. These units required some special attention and multiple cleans to truly get all the fine ash cleaned up. 

But nonetheless, we were still able to get the job done ahead of schedule and under the quoted budget. We even had time to throw in a few little extras, such as cleaning the basements of each property that weren’t included in the original quote.

Needless to say, that client was thrilled and has since contracted us for all of his future rental unit turnover cleanings as well as periodic common area cleanings to ensure that his properties are always kept spic and span.
